“Benold,
Forbes & Tippit ASAP’s
Night at the
Monument Café”
This FUN fund-raising event was a huge success! With the generous support
of the Monument Cafe' in Georgetown (1953 South Austin Ave.) and the
fantastic middle school teachers we raised over $2,000 for ASAP
scholarships.

| ASAP is Camping Out!
Friday May 11th 5pm to Saturday May 12th 9am. Students will meet at
Benold Middle School at 5pm Friday evening and then embark on an
exciting overnight adventure! Hot Dogs, Chips, Cookies, Smores, Drinks
and Breakfast will be served. Students will participate in a
variety of fun out-door activities! |

| SEARCH CONFERENCE! ASAP was invited to
present at the prestigious Search Conference in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Four model ASAP students were chosen to retell their ASAP experiences
and how ASAP was helps the community of Georgetown. They also
participated in many educational workshops that helped them to develop
ideas for teens in Georgetown. |

the Tippit Family Fun Night! |
| ASAP students from the Agents of Change Class
at Benold Middle School made a fantastic presentation to at the Georgetown
Projects "Connecting the Dots" Developmental Assets Conference. The students
presented to area individuals who work with and invest in youth. These
students Lydia Garcia, Charles Burdette and Bradley Ruff made excellent
presentations on investing in youth and getting results. Their mature
demeanor and wonderful commentary was amazing. The handled all of the
questions they received from adults in the audience with poise and maturity.
It was Impressive!

This Year ASAP's Web Site was selected at the
Georgetown ISD's program web site of the year. This award is given each year
to teachers and staff who maintain outstanding websites that are an online
resource for parents and students. Criteria includes updating the web site
once every 9 weeks, consistent and easy to use overall design of website,
professional content, must be created and maintained by the staff member,
examples of class/ program work, current material. This is a huge
honor for the program!

For the second year in the row Tippit Get
Involved students have made efforts to partner with the campus PTA to help
with the Family Fun Night. This years ASAP booths will include ping pong
fishing- where students will attempt to win a fish by bouncing a ping pong
ball into a gold fish bowl. Students will also have a face, nail and hair
painting booth- where people will be able to get their faces professionally
painted by ASAP artist or have their nails and hair painted! The night is
sure to be fun. We will update you with pictures after the event! Family fun
night is on Monday February 27th from 7:00pm-???? Their will be a variety of
booths open including door prizes, raffles, food and plenty of fun for the
family! Come out and support the Tippit PTA and ASAP by participating in
this event!!!

| Austin's Park and Pizza The kids were
wonderful and had a good time! The trip was a reward for those kids who
displayed good behavior, good grades, and good attendance. The kids got to
do such things as eat all the pizza they could, ride Go-Karts, play video
games, ride bumper boats, and play miniature golf. |
Those Crazy Brazilians!
Seven people from San Paulo, Brazil came to ASAP at Tippit to learn more
about the program to start a pilot program of their own. The Brazilians
were impressed with the students who put on a cultural meal for them and
displayed their talents and artwork. |
Get Involved ASAP! -Tsunami Relief Festival
-Benold collected pet supplies for the animal shelter
-Tippit family fun night - in support of the PTA
-Tippit helped to clean up the flower beds
-All schools helped with the Healthy Miles for Healthy Smiles Run/Walk |
