The asapsac is the student advisory committee to The After School Action Program. Students who participate in this committee will be responsible for changing ASAP policies, hiring staff, developing classes, problem solving and discussing issues in partnership with After School Action Program staff. 

 

 

The Student Established Goals for 2009-10

  • More kids in ASAP- Inspire students to join and come
  • ASAP should be more fun
  • Nicer teachers
  • More Specific rules created by youth

The adoption of these goals were voted on by the ASAP student body as a whole in January 2009.

 

 

Nominations:

Nominations for the 2010-2011 asapsac will be November 1st to the 5th. Students interested in participating should attend the general interest meeting the week of October 4th-6th for their home campus.

Nominations for the 2009 asapsac occurred November 17th to the 21st. If you are still interested in participating in this advisory group it is not too late to join. Please print an nomination application , complete it, and return it to the ASAP office for consideration. You will be notified if your application is accepted.

 

Training & Orientation:

The 2009 asapsac held their training retreat December 1st from 6pm- 7:30pm in the ASAP office at Benold Middle School 3407 Northwest Blvd. Georgetown, TX 78628. Dinner was provided.

Meetings

The first meeting of the 2009-2010 school year will be a general interest meeting held at each campus as follows. Anyone interested in joining this group may attend this information meeting.

Benold- October 4th, 4pm-5pm

Forbes- October 5th, 4pm-5pm

Tippit- October 6th, 4pm-5pm

 

Over the 2008-2009 school year this subcommittee of The After School Action Program will meet regarding;

  • The ASAP student code of conduct

  • ASAP Policy and Procedures

  • Spring 2008 Class offerings

  • Budget

  • Staff

 

The first meeting of the asapsac was Monday, December 8th from 4pm- 6pm in the Forbes Library. Snacks and Drinks provided.

The second meeting and celebration for newly elected members will be December 14th at the Red Poppy Coffee Shop in the Georgetown Library from 4:30-6pm.
